Unsigned elevator, it tried to go the basement but it underflow and sent the elevator to the sky like in the Charlie and the chocolate factory (2005).

If anyone can use the elevator, that would mean a lot of false code 99 by clueless people.
Maybe the manufacturer did not had buttons with negative numbers on stock and improvised?
Not much, and mostly people touching it by accident or without stop to think that is not the correct and then pressing their desired floor.
But more than enough to not have an internal trigger for emergency scenarios so accessible to the public.
