The older socialism of the Owenites and so forth was Utopian in that they focused on creating Utopian models and copying them. Marx brought a scientific approach to socialism.
Don’t care how long they are as long as they are representing the interests of the proletariat, which is me and you and the farmers and industrial workers all around me etc. Then, when they’re too old to properly administrate, we have delegation/elections. Yknow, a thing called democracy?
